Is 2015 the year you plan on getting married! Well, a really big Congratulations shout out to you and your fiance!! Have you started planning the big day, or are you unsure of where to start? Let us give you some fabulous ideas and share some of 2015 top wedding trends with you…so that you can plan a most wonderful, most beautiful and most unforgettable day of your new life together.

A trend that has been a favourite of ours here at Sue Gallo Designs over the last few seasons has finally hit it big time in 2015. The Bohemian-chic or rustic style is an informal, unconventional and homey wedding decor trend for this year. This look and feel creates an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. Think of gathering all of your family and friends and inviting them back to your garden back yard for a wonderful celebration. Think of long wooden tables, mixed matched chairs and wooden benches, think of vintage table cloths, blankets and carpets strewn across the grass with piles of pillows. Think of twinkle lights, cafe lighting wrapped around trees, with vintage lighting fixtures, jars and lanterns hung with macrame in groups for a cozy ambient grow throughout the evening.  Add candles, drift wood, even antlers, vintage glassware and tableware with copper accents for that perfect boho table scape.

We might be a little bias, but we here at Sue Gallo Designs feel that no wedding is ever complete without the most perfect flowers. 2015 flower trends go hand in hand with the Boho and Organic decor and atmosphere themes.  Bouquets, floral arrangements and accenting floral elements are comprised of seasonal blossoms that seemingly have just been picked right out of the back yard or neighbouring fields. Incorporating seasonal elements such as succulents and grasses for summer, chestnuts, acorns, birch & wheat for fall, and pinecones, evergreens berries for winter weddings is a huge trend as well. Florals should be loose, organic and textured, with pastel tones or total white used for spring and summer weddings. Think of rich red and cream bouquets or green bouquets filled with unusual vines, leaves and blossoms for fall or winter weddings. Beautiful garden flowers such as astliby, garden roses, anemone, peony, ranunculus, berries, dahlia, dusty miller, sage and other aromatic herbs are still top choice for bouquets in 2015. boho5

The Boho look not for you…consider using luscious full blossomed flowers like peony, hydrangea, orchids, garden roses for that ultra-luxurious look that is romantic and elegant. Arrangements are more focused on the actual blossoms for large elegant designs that excludes branches, exposed leaves or stems within the design. Just perfect for that over the top uber elegant wedding you just might be planning.boho6

When it comes to catering your wedding, you can consider two of the trendiest options for 2015. Firstly, you must consider the theme of your wedding, and how you wish the evening to unfold. If you are planning that uber luxurious wedding, why not consider a tasting menu. This 5 star dining style is what you would find  when dining in a true Michelin star restaurant where several small tasting dishes are impeccably presented to each of your dining guests. In complete contrast to this luxurious dining style, there is a strong emphasis on home cooked, organic earth to table meals, based on local and organic products. This dining experience is simple perfect for that boho, rustic or bistro atmosphere that you are wishing to achieve for your wedding day. There are several restaurants and venues in the area that adhere to this fabulous menu.

Regardless of your wedding style, a classic tiered wedding cake is making a come back in 2015. Your cake should be big, beautiful and of course very very delicious. Wether you can to have a cake that is elegantly frosted or naked with a light touch of frosting, you should offer this delicious dessert to your guests following your meal rather than serving it at your late night buffet.

Your invites set the mood for your wedding and give your guests a sneak peek into how your wedding day will unfold. So remember your theme when you are choosing that perfect invite. As rustic, organic and boho dominate the 2015 wedding season, so should this look extend into your invites and stationary. Coordinating these elements into your wedding day will help complete the over all look and feel to your theme and help to create a beautiful and memorable celebration. Ink tones, font and how font is used, giving great importance on what is written truly becomes the focal point of the design. Alternatively, watercolours and pastel hues inspire wedding invitations to create a unique and truly personal invitation. boho8

Colour is the glue, that cam define a space and create a mood and atmosphere. When designing a wedding, knowing what colours to use can make or break the feel, the ambiance, the theme you want to express on your wedding day. Used together or on their own, these wonderful colour combinations will help set the mood and complete the look and feel of your wedding.  If you follow Pantone 2015 colour trends, think of  “this season, cooler and softer colour choices with stubble warn tones follow a minimalistic air them, that takes its cues from nature.” bobhLooking for a little help as you begin planning your fabulous wedding…we are just a phone call away.
