Head Table- Why it should be the focal point of your wedding reception

There are so many important elements you need to consider when planning your wedding florals and decor. One of the most important is your head table. Celebrating your first meal as a married couple with your besties by your sides or just the two of you, your head table is where you should plan to dine in style. 

The head table is generally central in your ballroom or event space. Not only will you both be dining there, it also tends to take up a lot of space, it truly is the focus of your reception. Everyones eyes will naturally be drawn to the head table throughout the evening as you celebrate. Many couples forget this, and even think of their head table as an after thought. Oh how wrong they are!!!

Typically, your head table will consist of many tables depending upon your wedding party size and who will be joining you there. With many styles, shapes and sizes to consider … choosing  a sweet heart table for 2, a kings table, a u -shaped,  traditional rectangular or even a double tiered head table, this table will take up a lot of space. So it is important that you consider the tables size and it’s placement in the room and how to use it to make a statement. 

This is your table, you are the real reason everyone is there … everyones eyes will naturally wonder towards the head table to look at and admire the newly wed couple. Speeches and toasts are given from here and many many many photographs taken … so it is important that your head table be beautiful and an eye catching focal point. 

This is your oportunity to really play with your vision and all that pretty that brings it to frution. Add a dramatic backdrop, layer it with rich linens, romantic candlelight and the dreamest of flowers. Even a wedding cake or two! Adding just your bouquets … kinda boring and sooooo old school. This is the most important table at your wedding. It needs to be fabulous!!! 

Your head table naturally brings everyone together. Usually placed by the dance floor, your guests often head to the dance floor to celebrate the night away. More often than not, your head table will be front and center to the dancing & nightly celebrations, and in the background of many many more photographs. A stunning setting, enourages everyone to get up out  of their seats and dance the night away.
