Katrina + Matthew at the ARt gallery of hamilton
The modern aesthetic of the Joey & Toby Tanenbaum pavilion at the ART GALLERY OF HAMILTON set the stage for a sophisticated atmsophere adorned with layers of texutred vines, and pared-back dramatic & statement making florals with minimal decor elements for Katrina & Matthew’s simplistic modern wedding. Combining a minimalistic organic style with a relaxed vibe, we aimed to highlight thoughtful and understanted elegance for Katrina & Matthew art gallery wedding.
Grand white walls, endless windows, high ceilings, and a beautiful sculpture gallery garden, the AGH was already beautiful on its own. Taking inspiration from Katrina & Matthew’s Pinterest inspiration, we designed a space that could seamlessly transition from ceremony to reception space while the guests enjoyed cocktails in the Fischer Gallery. A dramatic & statement making ceiling installation of lush and textured Smilax Vine complete with strung edision bulb ligthing created warmth within the pavilion. While a stunning floral arch of fall foliage and florals created a stunning backdrop to their vow exchange. Meanwhile, we set the aisle with lush vines, romantic flameless candles for ambiance and completed the space with transparent lucite chairs for some modern drama. Set around the room, were white washed wooden dining tables complete with sprawling smilax vines and more flameless candles.
With the use of dramatic colour, simple but gorgeous + statement making florals, and minimal decor elements, we created a wedding was modern, with a simplistic minimalist vibe that brought their vision to life. “Planning our wedding was a dream. We got engaged December 2020, when the fate of weddings was undetermined. We chose to wed in October 2022, nearly 2 years later, in hopes that nothing would get in the way of our special day. We had a vision of what we wanted to see at our wedding, but weren't quite sure how to move forward. That's when we reached out to Sue! Sue was amazing to work with, so knowledgeable, friendly and great at communication. She took our Pinterest board and brought it to life. Sue took all the stress out of sourcing, coordinating and planning...we really had nothing to worry about leading up to the big day! We couldn't have asked for anything more, and highly recommend Sue and her team!"
